Let us pray as Jesus taught us …

Tuesday of the First Week of Lent

Is 55:10-11

Ps 34:4-5, 6-7, 16-17, 18-19

We are very familiar with the Our Father.  It is one of the earliest prayers that we learn.  How familiar are we with the heart of Jesus as he prays this prayer with us?
Together with him we praise the Father.  We long for our daily bread.  We seek forgiveness.  We seek a forgiving heart.
It is only because God loves us so much that we can hope for any of these gifts and blessings.
As we pray this prayer today, remembering all those whose lives were lost or torn apart by the tsunami, let us allow God’s Word to penetrate our being and to bring forth the growth we need this Lent.  God tells us that his Word “shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it.”  We place our trust in God.
